Chester arrived at our shelter as a stray with obvious signs of a major injury. After a successful hip surgery funded by Give a Dog a Dream, Chester started to show his true personality, which was an excited and a happy-go-lucky pup! After spending 5 months in our shelter and recovering from his surgery, Chester was adopted!
Rusty came to our shelter after being abandoned at a local business overnight. Weighing in at only 4lbs, we saw that he had a broken knee and hip which resulted in two different complicated surgeries both funded by Give a Dog a Dream. After spending 8 months with us recovering and learning that humans are good, Rusty was adopted!
When Curtis arrived at Huntington Animal shelter, staff assumed it would just be matter of time before this adorable dog with his scruffy face and happy disposition landed him into his forever home. However, it quickly became evident that there was a huge obstacle that would prevent him from ever getting there. Something was terribly wrong with Curtis. He began vomiting, lost his appetite and showed other signs of distress. The shelter feared he had an abdominal obstruction or foreign object inside him and rushed him to an emergency animal hospital for what turned out to be life-saving surgery. His veterinary bill was covered by Give a Dog a Dream. Just before his adoption Curtis was able to participate in Give a Dog a Dream’s November 2024 Photos with Santa fundraiser at Pawfect Pet Den in Greenlawn.
Wilbur came to our shelter as a stray after being thrown out of a moving car. Wilbur’s tail sadly required a partial amputation as well as terrible hematomas on his left ear which were both funded by Give a Dog a Dream. After spending nearly 3 years here, learning that he is safe, Wilbur was adopted!
