Give a Dog a Dream, Inc. is a charitable 501(c)(3) federal tax exempt non-profit corporation established in 2015 to further the Town of Huntington's goal of offering specialized veterinary care and advanced dog behavior modification training at the Huntington dog shelter and accommodating the wishes of those many residents who want to contribute directly to the Huntington Town Animal Shelter and expand the shelter’s ability to care for the animals in its charge.
To coordinate and sponsor pet adoption and pet care events and fundraisers and increase opportunities for dogs to find loving families to adopt them. To expand services available from the Town’s animal control division to include advanced veterinary care and surgery, as well as specialized training, behavior modification, immersive canine socialization that strengthen a the ability of the animal control division and its volunteers to provide support for abandoned and displaced dogs that achieves the goal of increasing adoptions and reducing or eliminating the need to euthanize.
Not directly, no. Give a Dog a Dream is a charity that supports dogs in the care of Huntington NY's town Animal Shelter. All our efforts go towards ensuring that Huntington's dogs have access to medical and behavioral help that would be difficult for shelter to provide without assistance.
All board members of Give a Dog a Dream are volunteers with many serving in current or past Huntington Town appointed or elected leadership roles.
